Service Line Inventory

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced its Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) which required all public water suppliers to locate, identify, and submit an inventory of all water line material from the water main to any structure, home, or business by October 2024. This inventory encompasses not only the utility-owned portion of the water line, but the customer-owned water line as well. This is a nationwide mandate.

Throughout our water system, we have been working to identify the material of every service line, or the pipes, delivering water to the structure(s) on your property from the water meter. You may recall receiving a letter and a survey from Southside Water Works & Sewer Board asking for your assistance identifying your water line materials as part of this mandate.

As a result of the efforts by our SSWWSB team, many helpful responses from our customers, and a collaboration with 120Water, this inventory has been compiled and is publicly available here.

If you did not complete a survey or your service line material is unknown, you may receive a letter in the coming weeks pertaining to this information.

*Note: Our records indicate that Southside has no utility-owned lead service lines in its distribution system.*
