Southside Water Works and Sewer Board is now accepting applications for a full-time laborer position. Normal work hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Laborer will go on call schedule during which laborer will respond to emergencies which may result in unscheduled shifts. This position involves physical labor including, but not limited to, the following duties:

Maintenance of water and sewer system, facilities, machinery, etc.

Manually read water meters

Change out meters and meter parts

Manual disconnects for nonpayment

Maintain assigned vehicle(s) and equipment

Mow grass and operate weed eater

Any job asked to do by any supervisor

Starting pay will be $17.00/hour

Applicants must pass pre-employment drug test. Applicants must also have a valid Alabama driver’s license and be able to be insured under company’s auto insurance. If hired, laborer will be required to work a 180-working-day probationary period.
