Service Line Inventory Surveys Coming Soon!
March 01, 2024
Attention Southside Water Customers
Southside Water Works & Sewer Board is requesting your help by taking a short survey regarding your water line material(s) which will be included with your bill next month. Completing this survey will help us to assess every water line in our community for a nationwide service line inventory requirement.
What is this survey for?
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) which requires all public water suppliers to locate, identify, and submit an inventory of all water line material from the water main to any structure, home, or business by October 2024. This inventory encompasses not only the utility-owned portion of the water line, but the customer-owned water line as well. This is a nationwide mandate.
When will I receive this survey?
You will receive this survey included with your next monthly bill (April 2024).
Who needs to fill out a survey?
A survey must be completed for every service location. Southside has over 4,000 customers so we greatly appreciate your assistance during this extensive project. If you have more than one service line and only receive one survey, please contact our office.
What do I do with this survey?
Completed surveys can be submitted by mail with your monthly bill, delivered to the Southside Water Works & Sewer Board office at 3001 Highway 77, Southside, AL 35907, or e-mailed to jessica@southsidewater.us.
Avoid a door-to-door inspection by submitting your response early!
For questions, please call us at (256)442-8707 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
